Acupuncture

Placeholder ImageThe traditional explanation for acupuncture is based on the idea that Qi or energy flows around the body through channels or meridians. If this energy does not flow properly pain and disease can develop. Treating specific points on the channels with needles or other methods can influence  this flow of Qi, and help a person to recover.

One way to think of  this is to imagine a man wearing a tie too tightly. He gets red in the face and feels constricted. Loosening his tie will help. Conversely, if his belt is too loose it won’t hold his trousers up, making walking difficult for him. Tightening his belt will help.

Acupuncture has a very strong effect on the muscles and structure of the body. One of the key aims of treatment is to balance the structure by releasing tight muscles and strengthening weaker areas.
